Rachel & Michael

Mercedes Says...

Our first meeting was a true family affair and I loved it! Some of Rachel’s family members including mom and dad attended our consultation. They were all so sweet, kind and open to ideas from their potential florist and this interaction made the consultation so much fun! I was thrilled to see the whole family involved in such a special and beautiful moment.

Rachel knew what she wanted for her colors, purple with a pop of hot pink, and left the rest up to us. As designers, she was a dream come true, perfect! During our conversations, she did share that she had an affinity for hydrangeas and that's when I knew these would be our main flower. Like most brides, Rachel was not sure what her budget should be, but she did reassure me that flowers were very important to her and that quality and beauty were what she was after. I was determined to give her the prettiest purple flowers of the season and that's how I came up with her designs.

Rachel's Flowers

We wanted Rachel’s bridal bouquet design to stand out and be different from the rest of the designs of the bridesmaids bouquets. She wanted her bouquet to be extra big and we gave her just that! We added the pop of hot pink she wanted with Pink Floyd, one of our favorite large headed deep pink roses. For the bridesmaids bouquets, we went a different route with a clean, simple yet classic look adding accents of purple wax flower to white hydrangea bouquets, which was just what the bride wanted.

We stayed with the simple but effective design concept of the bridesmaid’s bouquets when putting together the aisle markers which also consisted of white flowers with slight accents of purple. We created two altar pieces using purple larkspur and purple hybrid delphinium along with white oriental lilies and bells of ireland for a classic and elegant but not overstated look as Rachel required that the pieces be large and beautiful but not distracting. Rachel had also asked for a welcome table arrangement as well as an urn based design for the buffet table which also utilized the same flower types as her altar pieces, creating a perfectly cohesive flow between her bouquets and all of her florals. There were flowers everywhere and we loved it! Rachel and Michael’s wedding was so stunning, and their venue, the Vista on Seward Hill, provided the perfect setting for this beautiful evening. We are extremely thankful for this spring wedding that we had so much fun designing! Thank you Rachel and family!

The Client Says...

Mercedes is incredibly talented and just as sweet. She went above and beyond to make my wedding day incredible. I am OBSESSED with my bouquet. It is so beyond perfect I couldn't have dreamed up anything better. Mercedes was quick to respond to all of my requests and was able to adjust easily to my last minute changes. She delivered my flowers herself (with her team, of course) on my wedding day and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it before she left. I cannot express with words how fantastic my experience with her shop was. I don't live in Austin, but if I did, I wouldn't use anyone else for any of my floral needs. Thank you, Mercedes!!
